An exciting opportunity is available to join our Clinical Engineering team as a Medical Device Training Assistant Band 4. The Clinical Engineering team are responsible for the training, maintenance, repair and management of a wide range of medical devices across The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. As part of the team, your role and the work you do will contribute to the training and training record keeping of the staff across the Trust and consequently safe treatment of our patients. You will help to maintain a high quality and efficient medical devices training service to our staff.

Working hours are 37.5 per week. You will be required to work, when necessary, in other Engineering departments within The Christie. The successful candidate will be dedicated, flexible, well-organised and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Previous experience in an administration role, ideally within healthcare or public sector setting is essential.

You will assist our Medical Device Training Lead with a range of day-to-day administration and support. This will include the administration of the training records, documentation and medical device competencies in line with our medical devices quality system. You will be confident liaising with a wide range of stakeholders across the trust and external providers in relation to the administration of our medical devices.

The role includes assisting with the administration of training record keeping on the e-Quip training system, assisting with the development and maintenance of the medical devices quality system, and organising on-site training of medical devices with manufacturers. You will be working within a multidisciplinary department, where patient safety is at the heart of everything we do and therefore conscientiousness and attention to details are key skills within the team.

You will be based at the main Christie site (Withington). Our team of engineers are split between a number of workshops at the Withington site, and our satellite departments throughout Greater Manchester. This is a rewarding role within a department that contributes to the safe and efficient treatment of our patients.
