Full-time role 38 hours per week, working between the hours of 7am to 7pm over seven days, Monday to Sunday.

As Assistant Chef, you will support the Catering Manager in providing a comprehensive and professional service for the Centre, deputising for the Catering Manager in their absence.
As part of the Catering Team, your role will include a variety of tasks to help produce top class food and ensure a high-quality dining experience for our residents.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Support the Catering Manager and Team in the preparation of meals, ensuring they are delivered to residents in an appetising manner, following the approved menu cycle.
Ensure special dietary needs and preferences of our residents are met.
Be responsible for the smooth running of the Catering Department in the absence of the Catering Manager.
Ensure proper standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and safe storage of kitchen equipment are adhered to at all times.
Oversee ordering and delivery of provisions, as authorised by the Catering Manager.
Maintain good relations with residents and visitors, maintaining the good name of the Centre at all times.
Minimum qualifications and experience:
City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent. Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent, desirable. Knowledge of current Hygiene Legislation essential. Some experience in managing staff preferably in the care sector preferred.
