The predicted salary is between 60000 - 84000 £ per year.

We have a vacancy for a part-time (6 sessions) experienced Salaried GP to support our Chislehurst community. This vacancy has arisen due to one of our GPs leaving in April 2026. We would like this role to start from March 2026. The role is for 6 sessions per week which will be split across 3 full days. Due to room availability, the confirmed working days are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. The successful candidates will be expected to work across the two sites.

Main duties of the job

The suitable candidate should feel comfortable working independently as well as alongside our multi-disciplinary medical team. The role will include pro-rata involvement with the duty doctor triage rota working alongside another duty doctor at the opposite practice site. We expect our team to always act within your professional boundaries, providing appropriate care for patients from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care. You will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients within the general practice. The ideal candidate will demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process.

You will possess the necessary skills, knowledge and behaviour by promoting and protecting the interests of service users and carers, communicating appropriately and effectively, working within the limits of your knowledge and skills, referring and delegating appropriately, respecting confidentiality, managing risk, reporting concerns about safety, being honest and trustworthy and keeping records of your work.

About us

We are a dynamic, patient-focused and high-achieving partnership that strives to provide first-class care for our 24,000 patients. Our clinical system is EMIS which integrates with AccuRx to communicate with our patients. Home visiting is supported by our practice Paramedic and Advanced Nurse Practitioner who work alongside the Bromley Healthcare District Nursing team. We are part of a PCN which has several additional practitioners including Clinical Pharmacists, Social Prescribers, a Mental Health Practitioner, First Contact Physiotherapist and Paramedic.

Job responsibilities

Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the Practice Manager or GP Partners, dependent on current and evolving Practice workload and staffing levels.

Person Specification

Experience and skills

  • Ability to both work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Proven ability to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of own clinical practice
  • Understanding of the importance of evidence-based practice
  • Good MS Office and clinical system IT knowledge
  • Understanding of the spectrum of clinical governance processes
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) including recording of accurate clinical notes
  • Ability to work within own scope of practice and understand when to refer to GP colleagues
  • Experience of triage and duty doctor
  • Understanding of safeguarding adults and children
  • Minimum of two years as a salaried GP, however newly qualified GPs are still encouraged to apply
  • Experience of medicines management
  • Understanding and knowledge of QOF and enhanced service

  • Full GMC registration
  • MRCGP
  • Performers List registration noting that confirmation on this list is adequate for DBS confirmation
  • Evidence of current validation
  • Evidence of last appraisal
  • Eligibility to practice in the UK independently, including right to work in the UK
  • Previous EMIS web and Docman experience
  • Newly qualified GPs welcomed
  • Experience with home visits
  • Experience working at triage or duty doctor
