An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Paramedic within a committed team working across two sites in Chislehurst. Paramedics now provide much more than just emergency care and are expected to manage a broad range of conditions. This role has emerged out of necessity, as patients seeking assistance from ambulance services may have conditions that can be assessed and managed within the community.

Main duties of the job:

  • We are looking to employ an experienced paramedic to support our large patient list.
  • This role will work Monday and Wednesday (16 hours per week) alongside our current Paramedic who will work alternate days so that every day of the week is covered.
  • You should feel comfortable working independently as well as alongside our multi-disciplinary medical team, managing routine and urgent appointments, telephone triage (including assessment of urgency of illness/injury), and home visits.
  • You will be seeing patients with long-term medical conditions, including same-day urgent home visits as well as routine visits to housebound patients for pro-active care to prevent avoidable emergency admissions.
  • You will be patient-focused and responsible for delivering safe, effective, and appropriate treatment to patients with urgent, emergency, and unscheduled healthcare needs.
  • You will possess the necessary skills, knowledge, and behaviour by promoting and protecting the interests of service users and carers, communicating appropriately and effectively, working within the limits of your knowledge and skills, referring and delegating appropriately, respecting confidentiality, managing risk, reporting concerns about safety, being honest and trustworthy, and keeping records of your work.

About us:

The Chislehurst Partnership formed in July 2022, merging The Woodlands Practice and Chislehurst Medical Practice, supporting the Chislehurst community of 24,000 patients. Both are high performing, well-established GP practices in Bromley who are passionate about providing a friendly, supportive, and caring medical service to our population. The Partnership aims to move into one premises in the future; however, for the time being, we are operating from three premises all located within a 1-mile radius.

Job responsibilities:

The Paramedic is to work within the team to deliver the best healthcare service to our patients. More specifically, the Paramedics are primarily responsible for second-line triage, support, and diagnosis of patients with same-day queries. You will also be involved in other aspects of patient care including home visits, vaccinations, and more.
