An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Housekeeping Assistant to join our Housekeeping Team working evenings. As a Housekeeping Assistant, your role will be supervised by the Housekeeping Supervisor and will report to the Housekeeping Lead. Staff benefits include a shuttle bus and more.
Main duties of the job:
- Your role will be to provide a high standard of housekeeping and accommodation service across the site.
- You will provide excellent levels of cleanliness that are consistent throughout the site.
- As part of the site services team, you will liaise with managers and staff across the Trust.
- You will work closely with other members of the facilities team and assist in covering the laundry, deep clean team, or other works as required.
- You will be a natural and enthusiastic housekeeper working both as part of a team and individually.
Job responsibilities:
- Ensure that the housekeeping services are of an acceptable level and consistent across the site.
- Carry out a cleaning service in allocated buildings/rooms/areas ensuring that daily tasks are completed according to the standard operating procedures.
- Follow infection control procedures whenever carrying out duties.
- Liaise with the Housekeeping Supervisor and House Staff on a daily basis.
- Ensure safe storage of cleaning materials and equipment and maintain sufficient stock.
- Assist in the cleaning of communal areas and carry out high dusting on a rotating schedule.
- Report any repairs required to fixtures and fittings to the designated Facilities Helpdesk.
- Assist in routine housekeeping audits as outlined in the planned preventative maintenance schedules.
- Prioritise work to complete assignments in a timely manner.
- Undertake other or additional duties as required.
Training & Development:
- Attend team meetings and mandatory training sessions.
- Develop self to improve personal performance within the department.
- Read all policies and procedures relevant to working practice.
Professionalism:
- Adhere to the policies and procedures of The Childrens Trust.
- Maintain professional boundaries and professionalism at all times.
Health and Safety:
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including infection prevention and control.
- Provide evidence of all vaccinations required for the post.
- Promote the health and safety of others.
Wellbeing and Emotional Resilience:
- Maintain a positive approach when dealing with change and challenges.
- Recognise own limitations and develop realistic goals.
Person Specification:
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and Infection Control.
- GCSE English (grade C or above) or equivalent.
- Physically fit for moving, lifting, and cleaning.
- Friendly and caring with an understanding of children's needs.
- Able to communicate effectively with line manager and all staff.
- Previous experience in a housekeeping/cleaning role is desirable.
