An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrician to join our Estates Team. This role will report into the Senior Engineer.

Role Requirements

  • Reporting to the Senior Engineer, the Electrician will use their vast experience, skill, and knowledge from previous roles to deliver exceptional electrical maintenance to the estate, ensuring the efficient operation and safety of all electrical systems and associated items in compliance with current standards and regulations.
  • Conduct Portable appliance testing (PAT), quarterly RCD functionality checks, monthly emergency light tests, and an annual drop test on the estate's electrical systems.
  • Generate minor works and electrical installation certificates for the completed tasks.
  • Assist with the supervision and monitoring of external contractors and any other duties that may be required.
  • Participate in a 7-day shift rota and out of hours call out to ensure 24/7 coverage of the estate.
  • Perform electrical work across site as specified through the maintenance helpdesk and report progress back to the help desk.
  • Install wiring and systems as required, including lamp, socket changes and LED upgrade programme.
  • Regularly inspect electrical systems, components, and equipment for safety, functionality, and compliance with regulations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, recommending and implementing appropriate solutions.
  • Work with and terminate steel wired armour (SWA) and add/install new external lights.
  • Plan, complete & certificate electrical installations within regulatory guidance.
  • Coordinate with other tradespeople and contractors to ensure the timely completion of electrical work within project timelines.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and installation documentation.
  • Conduct periodic inspections and testing of electrical systems to identify and address potential issues proactively.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards at all times.
  • Respond promptly to service calls and emergency situations, resolving electrical problems efficiently.
  • Install, maintain and repair electrical systems, including power, heating, lighting, security systems, generators and renewable energy technologies.
  • Inspect, analyse, fault find, carry out repair and service electrical installations in all estate wide buildings both internally and externally in a professional manner and to a high standard in compliance with current regulation/legislation.
  • Responsible for all electrical equipment being efficiently and effectively operated, adjusting as necessary, reporting defects malfunctions to the Maintenance Service Manager.
