Position: Permanent with funding

Location: London Borough of Newham

Hours: 35 hours per week

Salary: £28,188 per annum (London salary)

The Children’s Society have launched our new Time for young people support space in Plaistow, Newham and are looking for a committed wellbeing practitioner to join our team. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to shape a service as part of The Children’s Society’s mission to reverse the decline of children’s wellbeing by 2030. We believe support should be provided at the earliest possible opportunity, before young people reach crisis point.

Responsibilities

We are now looking to recruit a Wellbeing Practitioner with youth work, therapeutic, and trauma informed skills to deliver 1-1 interventions and group work sessions with young people both at the hub, and through additional delivery sites in the community. We will be offering additional training in the above areas.

Key Skills And Competencies

  • Excellent understanding of the emotional health and wellbeing needs of children and young people in the local community, informed by current research and evidence bases.
  • Experience of working in a trauma-informed and inclusive way, including working holistically to see, support and respond to young people’s ‘whole selves’.
  • Knowledge and experience of working within a 'drop-in' model.
