The Children’s Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 130 years. We run local services that support children when they are at their most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. We’re there for children, every step of the way.

This role sits within our Digital and Data Transformation group, which drives digital transformation that helps us to optimise digital experiences, enable commercial growth, ensure stable operations and support service delivery.

Your role will be to help us maintain and develop audience-led digital products for a range of purposes from digital fundraising and campaigning to engaging with young people online.

We are currently looking for a passionate web developer to join our dynamic Digital Innovation team, to play a key role in delivering our ambitious digital goals and take responsibility for the coding and innovative design of our website and digital products.

An excellent Drupal developer, with a proven track record, you’ll have significant responsibility and plenty of opportunity to input your ideas. In this pivotal role you will develop audience-led digital products for a range of purposes from digital fundraising and campaigning to engaging with young people online. We will look to you to develop high profile and quality digital products and services, and to work with internal and external stakeholders to agree and deliver them.

You can expect to work on a wide range of diverse and interesting projects that include: optimisation of our main TCS website and Give Hope website, A/B testing and improving our donation journeys, our wellbeing tool for young people, innovation projects involvement, API integration, integration with Dynamics and services.

This is an exciting time to join The Children’s Society as we’re testing new ideas and gearing up for increased and different fundraising opportunities to achieve our growth plan. We’ll support you with tailored personal development plans to strengthen your skills and experience. So, if you’re as ambitious as we are, you can enjoy a great career development opportunity with us and together we can change the lives of more vulnerable children.

In order to be successful in this role, you must have:

  • a firm technical grasp of Drupal, and demonstrate confident and clear communication and problem solving/fault diagnostic skills.
  • assertiveness, creativity, collaborative working and self-motivation as key skills in your armoury to ensure our digital offering is of the highest quality, and to deliver the best results possible.
  • strong organisational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines, budgets and within agile development environment
  • a successful track record in developing significant digital products and websites from scratch to launch

The Children’s Society runs over 100 local services that help thousands of young people who desperately need our support, and we campaign to get laws and policies changed to make children’s lives happier and safer.

Every day we’re changing the lives of children in this country for the better – and with your help, tomorrow we can be there for even more.

The Children’s Society is committed to safeguarding and protecting the children and young people that we work with. As such, all posts are subject to a safer recruitment process, including the disclosure of criminal records and vetting checks. We ensure that we have a range of policies and procedures in place which promote safeguarding and safer working practices across our services.

Therefore, candidates applying for work in our CYP Directorate will be required to complete an “Employment history_template” document prior to interview. The fully completed document should be loaded by the candidate at the point of uploading your CV.
