We are looking for an individual who has experience in working as a Volunteer Coordinator. You will be part of The Children's Society East Team, a multi-disciplinary team comprised of several projects who work together to support children and young people affected by a range of issues across East Anglia.
The role will support and lead Volunteers in their role, offering advice, guidance and practical support around issues including:
- Parental substance misuse
- Parental mental health
- Domestic violence
- Offending behaviour
- Tenancy support
- Participation
- Group support
- Supporting practitioners in 121 sessions where a second support worker is required
You will also manage and coordinate the members of our volunteering team to deliver direct support and develop links within the community.
In order to be successful with this role, you will need to demonstrate that you have:
- A relevant professional qualification working with vulnerable children and families is desired (e.g., Diploma/degree in social work, counselling qualification, professional youth worker or related NVQ or degree)
- Substantial relevant experience of working with vulnerable young people facing significant challenges within this sector
- Substantial experience of working with vulnerable young people and families that are hard to reach and from diverse backgrounds on both a one-to-one basis and through group work interventions
- Experience of supporting volunteers who are supporting children and young people and adults dealing with complex and sensitive issues through offering advice and advocacy
- Experience of partnership and multi-agency working
- Experience of working on one's own and within a team
- Experience of using IT based case management systems
