Although the existing building dates back to 1865, there has been an inn on this site since the late sixteenth century. Throughout the twentieth century the hotel has earned an enviable reputation for understated elegance, sublime comfort and impeccable service.

Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable, self-motivated, and observant Senior Night Porter to join our team in providing exceptional service in a hospitality setting. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the premises, ensuring a welcoming environment for guests. Our Senior Porters greet late check-in guests on entry to the hotel, provide valet parking, collect and deliver luggage, and provide information on the hotel and city centre. In the early hours, our Night Porters clean and maintain 5-star standards within our hotel, and for this reason, we are looking for candidates who can work independently and enjoy keeping active and busy during the quiet overnight period. They will also be responsible for supporting holiday cover for the Night Management team when required. 32 HOURS PER WEEK ACROSS 4 SHIFTS.

Duties

  • Supervise the team in the absence of Night Management.
  • Clean and maintain the lobby, corridors, and other public areas.
  • Assist guests with luggage and transportation needs.
  • Monitor and address any maintenance issues promptly.
  • Support security measures by monitoring premises.
  • Provide excellent customer service to guests.
  • Assist with deliveries and storage as needed.

Skills

  • Proficient in guest services with a focus on hospitality.
  • Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages is advantageous.
  • Experience in a hotel or similar setting is preferred.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage various tasks efficiently.
  • Supervisory experience.

Requirements

The ideal person will have at least a year’s experience in a similar position and will have the ability to deliver great service to our guests. We are looking for someone who is passionate about hospitality, reliable, and willing to learn as part of this growing team.
