The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 £ per year.
We’re looking to expand our creative partnerships with freelancers to work on design projects, to support our in‑house graphic designer when demand is high.
Role in Brief
You could be bringing a 20+ page strategy or report to life, creating social media graphics or designing pull‑up banners – the work is varied and covers all Council departments, from fostering to recycling or social work.
Key Requirements
- Ability to use Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), PowerPoint and Canva.
- Proven experience in design roles/projects, preferably within local government or public sector.
- A portfolio which demonstrates effective design solutions for print and online.
- Strong creative thinking to interpret a design brief and produce new ideas and concepts.
- Ability to create and/or adapt assets including posters, banners, infographics and social media graphics that inspire and inform our audience, whilst communicating our values and brand consistently.
- Ensure all design work makes appropriate use of our corporate guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills to produce accurate and high‑quality work.
- Familiar with digital and print production processes.
- A good understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design.
- Strong stakeholder management – you may be required to discuss the objectives and requirements of a project.
- Ability to manage your time and projects to deliver on a set timescale.
