Are you passionate about culture, heritage and leisure, and the role they play in helping communities thrive? We are seeking new Trustees to help shape our future as we launch an ambitious new 5‑year strategy focused on wellbeing, reducing inequality and strengthening belonging.

As a Trustee with experience in arts, culture or finance, you can help ensure our board can oversee our new five-year strategy with greater confidence. This year, we will also be publishing our updated vision, mission and embarking on an improved branding strategy.

As a trustee, your role will help the Trust to deliver its strategy and business plan as the Trust continues to offer diverse services to the local community and visitors to the town. We are committed to ensuring our Board reflects and understands the communities we serve. We particularly welcome applications from individuals with lived experience relevant to our mission and recognise this as a valuable form of knowledge that will inform our strategic decision‑making. This may include lived experience relating to race, disability, socio‑economic background, or other aspects of identity currently underrepresented in arts, heritage and charity governance. We will support all trustees, including those new to governance, to contribute fully.

We care for some of Cheltenham’s most loved venues, including Cheltenham Town Hall, Pittville Pump Room, The Wilson Art Gallery and Museum, Leisure at Cheltenham and the Prince of Wales Stadium. Through events, activities and partnerships, we aim to create welcoming, inclusive spaces that reflect and engage our diverse communities. We’re committed to building a Board that reflects the people we serve. We particularly welcome applications from individuals with lived experience relevant to our mission and from those currently underrepresented in arts, heritage and charity governance.

No previous trustee experience is required - full induction and support will be provided. We’re especially interested in candidates with experience in Arts & Culture or Finance, who want to make a positive difference locally. This is a voluntary role, with a commitment of around six Board meetings per year, plus occasional sub‑committee meetings and events. Reasonable expenses are reimbursed.

If you’re interested in helping shape Cheltenham’s cultural future, we’d love to hear from you. Interviews will be held in June 2026 by a recruitment panel. Applicants with disabilities who meet the skills we are looking for will be guaranteed an interview.
