We are hiring for a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. The Chelsea Psychology Clinic (TCPC) is a highly regarded mental health and wellbeing clinic that comprises a group of private psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals. The clinic offers a space for independent, private practitioners to work together in an integrative way to provide a range of high-quality, client-focused clinical services.

TCPC was founded in 2016 by Dr Tom Pennybacker (Medical Director) and Dr Elena Touroni (Clinical Director) with four other associates based in one therapy room near Sloane Square, Chelsea. Since then, the clinic has grown considerably with an ever-growing number of associates and employees based across five sites: Harley Street, Eaton Gate, Pont Street near Sloane Square, Brook St in Mayfair, and High Street Kensington. The Clinic also offers a large provision of online therapy and assessments.

TCPC has a dedicated group of Assistant Psychologists who form the clinical triage team working 6 days a week across our sites and serve as the first point of contact for clients over the phone. Clients will be booked directly into your diary and our team will handle the administrative duties so you can focus on the clinical work. You will also have the support of our prescribing pharmacists who will assist with prescriptions and medication queries where appropriate.

Who We Are Looking For: We are looking for an experienced and compassionate child and adolescent psychiatrist to work within our dynamic team from our sites in Chelsea and Harley Street. The right person will work within our Child and Young Person (CYP) pathway in connection with our other CYP psychiatrists, psychologists, psychotherapists, and other mental health professionals. We are looking for someone who can offer a regular number of hours per week to an in-person clinic and potentially additional hours online for follow-up appointments. Our child and adolescent psychiatrists are supervised by the clinic's co-founder and medical director Dr Tom Pennybacker as well as the Child and Family Pathway Lead, Ms Vicky Lidchi.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team carrying out assessment and providing care to children and young people struggling with both common and complex mental health difficulties.
  • Work directly with the children, young people, and their families and liaise where appropriate with clients' other internal and external support e.g., schools, social services, therapists, nutritionists, private or NHS GP etc.
  • Assume responsibility for own case list and case management of children and families, in partnership with the relevant MDT professionals.
  • Provide assessment reports and clinical letters following appointments.
  • Maintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping and report writing, according to professional and clinic guidelines, including electronic data entry and recording.

This role has no on-call component, but you would be expected to be responsive via email to our assistant psychologist team regarding your current client queries or new enquiries.

Essential Qualifications:

  • MRCPsych or equivalent.
  • Completion of Higher Psychiatric Training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • CCT.
  • Full GMC Registration.
