We are seeking a skilled Learning Support Assistant to support a pupil on a 1 to 1 basis but also working with small groups of pupils in the classroom setting. The post is for 5 days a week (28.75 hours) Monday to Friday: 8.45am -12.15pm and 1pm - 3.15pm. This post will be a fixed term contract ending on 21st July 2027. Whilst there may be some flexibility in start and finish times, the successful candidate will be expected to work across all 5 days, Monday - Friday.
We are a good school seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and caring Learning Support Assistant with a "can-do" attitude who is committed to raising standards for those they work with. You will need to have an ability to work flexibly and with enthusiasm. You will work in partnership with class teachers and the SENCO to support learning in line with the National Curriculum.
Responsibilities- Support a pupil on a 1:1 basis.
- Assist small groups of pupils in classroom settings.
- Collaborate with class teachers and the SENCO to support learning in line with the National Curriculum.
- Experience of supporting children in a school setting.
- Strong behaviour management skills.
- Ability to support the child's medical needs and willingness to manage intimate care needs.
- Knowledge of successful strategies to engage pupils with specific and significant needs.
- Patience, calmness and flexibility at all times.
- Commitment to high achievement from pupils and self.
- Excellent organisation and interpersonal skills.
- Good standard of education: Maths and English GCSE grades A-C or equivalent.
- Good knowledge of ICT.
- Flexibility and a good sense of humour.
