My client is an ingredient led catering company providing a quality fresh food service for film and TV studios including location work. We have an immediate vacancy for a reliable, customer-focused professional Chef to cook on the mobile kitchen for the current production based at Shinfield studios near Reading.

Catering for about 200-350 people a day, the unit provides snacks, grab and go food, street food style, specialty coffee, raw juicing etc. Menus change daily and have a big focus on vegan and plant-based snacks including vegan baking. The company core values embrace responsible food provenance, recycling and healthy eating producing delicious, creative and inspirational food on a daily basis. There is no central production kitchen so all deliveries, food prep, cooking and service are done from the mobile unit.

Duties will include:

  • Menu Planning
  • Ordering and stock management
  • Health & Safety, Food Hygiene Compliance and Allergy Awareness

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable chef with excellent experience of fresh and healthy restaurant style food, including vegan cooking. Well organized, tidy, and even-tempered, flexible on working hours; there can be early starts and late finishes. You must be a strong team player prepared to roll your sleeves up as this kitchen is always busy. Previous experience of film location work would be an advantage.

Initial contract: April 11th to Feb 2026 with the opportunity of further ongoing work.

Own transport is essential as some locations are rural.

Rate: £250 a day

Filming: Monday to Friday (Some weekend work may apply)

Hours: 11 hours a day + £25 an hour overtime rate, hours are variable and subject to change. This may include occasional night work.
