The Chaseley Trust is dedicated to supporting individuals with diverse neurological impairments at our stunning seafront location in Eastbourne.
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Housekeeping Assistant to join our friendly care home team. This role is essential in helping us provide a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents, visitors, and staff.

Main Duties
General
- Clean and maintain all areas of the care home to a high standard, including resident’s rooms, bathrooms, lounges, dining areas, offices, and communal spaces.
- Carry out daily cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, mopping, polishing, and sanitising surfaces.
- Ensure infection control and health & safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Collect, wash, dry, iron, and distribute residents’ laundry and bedding.
- Handle laundry safely and appropriately, including separating items and using correct washing procedures.
- Replenish cleaning and hygiene supplies as required.
- Report maintenance issues, hazards, or damaged equipment to management.
- Work respectfully and sensitively around residents and their personal belongings.
- Assist in maintaining a welcoming and homely environment throughout the care home.
Requirements
- Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience is desirable but not essential.
- Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Caring, respectful, and dependable attitude.
- Understanding of hygiene and infection control practices.
