About The Role

As our Finance assistant, you’ll deliver a timely, accurate, and compliant accounts receivable ensuring invoices, receipts, and related transactions are processed correctly and efficiently. You will support strong financial controls, accurate reporting and positive customer relationships, acting as the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding accounts receivable service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering Accounts Receivable activities within a robust control framework, taking ownership for the accuracy, authorisation, and compliance of all transactions, including VAT, and minimising the risk of error or fraud.
  • Owning the end-to-end processing of customer invoices, credit notes and allocations accurately and in line with policies and service levels.
  • Being accountable for the accurate and timely preparation and processing of customer receipts and refunds in line with agreed terms and internal controls.
  • Preparing and posting month‑end journals for non‑sales ledger income, ensuring accurate coding and income recognition.
  • Demonstrating ownership and continuous improvement by proactively identifying opportunities to enhance processes and controls, sharing knowledge, and contributing to a resilient and high‑performing Transactional Finance function.
  • Managing service desk tickets and shared finance mailboxes, ensuring membership income queries are prioritised, resolved within SLAs, and clearly communicated.

About You

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and/or experience:

  • An understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Experience in an accounts receivable or finance assistant role
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management capability with ability to challenge appropriately
  • Strong attention to detail and high accuracy
  • Be organised, flexible, and able to work to tight deadlines
  • Be a confident IT user with good excel skills and an ability to pick up new IT systems quickly.
