Purpose of the Role

The Country Head - India provides leadership and coordination for CISI's liaison office in India. The role supports CISI's global objectives by building relationships, gathering market insights, and overseeing local membership engagement and professional activities. While the liaison office does not undertake commercial activities, the role plays a key part in connecting the CISI's global services to the regional context, promoting professional standards, and supporting member growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the senior representative of the CISI in India, ensuring alignment with the organisation's global mission and objectives.
  • Lead the India Liaison Office, including line management of the local team in Mumbai, managing budgets effectively and oversight of day-to-day operations.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders including client firms, academic institutions, professional bodies, regulators and policymakers.
  • Support collaborative initiatives, events and develop partnerships to raise CISI's profile.
  • As part of the wider CISI global team, contribute to strategy and planning, including reporting on performance and providing market insights.
  • Support CISI members in India, working with the National Advisory Council.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations governing liaison offices and represent the organisation with integrity and professionalism.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent relationship-building, networking and advocacy skills.
  • Strong communication skills (written and spoken).
  • Understanding of India's financial services ecosystem and the education/training landscape.
  • Familiarity with the regulatory frameworks governing liaison offices in India.

Experience

  • Proven leadership experience within a financial services or education-related organisation.
  • Experience working with or within professional or membership bodies is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to manage operations, people, and external relationships in a cross-cultural or international context.
  • Experience preparing business reports, briefings, or market insights for senior stakeholders.
