The Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors is looking for a well organised, qualified internal auditor to join their team. This unique role will enable someone with passion for the profession the opportunity to have huge influence on helping shape the industry, through the provision of technical guidance and delivering professional development to our members and the internal audit profession.

Key Purpose of the role:

  • To provide support for the Head of Professional Practices to manage technical guidance on all matters related to governance, risk management, control and internal audit. This includes drafting guidance and responding directly to technical queries.
  • To support the Head of Professional Practices to maintain the Chartered IIA's programme for conferences, forums, special interest groups, and other meetings as required. This will include presentation preparations, diarising meetings, agreeing agendas, and responding to member and non-member questions and queries.
  • To support the Head of Education and Development to develop and implement learning syllabi for qualifications and training courses.

Qualifications:

  • Professionally qualified in internal audit (Certified Internal Auditor ideally or working towards) preferably with 2-3 years' practical internal audit experience.

Essential experience and skills:

  • Excellent research skills and ability to assimilate information quickly and accurately.
  • Good written and oral communication skills, being able to work independently with senior leaders in the internal audit profession, in meetings and at conferences.
  • Ability to identify trends and their implications for internal auditors.
  • Supporting members with emerging risk challenges and the use of AI in developing their internal audit approach.
  • Able to manage multiple projects delivering to time and quality standards.
  • Experience in the development and delivery of training courses and syllabi.
  • Excellent IT proficiency in MS365 products, including Copilot and the use of generative AI.
  • Experience of developing website content, blogs, social media content, and podcasts is desirable.
  • Adherence to equal opportunities and a staff charter.

Location: We have hybrid working in place, with 40% attendance in our office in Victoria, London. For this role, this is open to negotiation for the right person.

Interested candidates should be based in and have the right to work in the UK, and be able to demonstrate practical working experience of the profession within the UK & Ireland.
