- Level 3 qualification (e.g., A-level or equivalent) in a science discipline or substantial, relevant laboratory/technical experience.
- Up-to-date knowledge of health and safety in science education (CLEAPSS, COSHH, risk assessment).
- Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD) appropriate to the role.
- Significant experience preparing practicals across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
- Managing/mentoring staff or leading a small team, including workload planning.
- Implementing safety systems and maintaining technical documentation.
- Procurement, stock control, and equipment maintenance.
- Excellent practical science skills and attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of CLEAPSS guidance, COSHH, and safe handling/disposal protocols.
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage competing deadlines with calm professionalism.
- Effective communicator who can influence, train, and support others.
- IT-literate (e.g., MS 365/Teams, inventory and booking systems, data loggers).
