Senior Pre-Sales Engineer
An established global leader in networking and smart home products is seeking an experienced Pre-Sales Engineer to join their expanding UK & Ireland team. This role offers the chance to collaborate with sales and technical teams to enhance product and service offerings for channel partners. The company is renowned for delivering innovative solutions that connect millions of people in over 170 countries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the company\’s SMB product portfolio, focusing on Managed Switching and Business Wireless solutions.
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify customer requirements in the B2B space, assisting with on-site networking surveys, technical training, presentations, partner events, and troubleshooting.
- Design and implement high-level training sessions for internal sales and technical teams, emphasizing SMB products and solution selling.
- Provide Tier 1 technical support for strategic customers and large networking projects, primarily via phone or email, with occasional on-site support.
- Understand customer needs and devise effective solutions using the company\’s products.
- Engage directly with customers for project scoping, statement of work development, deliverable documentation, and follow-up.
- Identify gaps in the SMB portfolio and provide feedback to product management to enhance offerings, including internal product testing, market analysis, and customer feedback.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing to craft appropriate customer messages and create technical content for internal and external use.
- Propose ideas to improve service delivery across various markets from a pre-sales perspective (e.g., ISP, Public sector, System integrators, MSP, VAR).
Requirements:
- Bachelor\’s degree or higher in Computing Networking, Engineering, or Science.
- Strong understanding of networking solutions and topologies, such as LAN/WAN.
- Preferably, pre-sales experience with a vendor or reseller partner.
- Passion for technology with the ability to quickly grasp new technical concepts.
- Proactive attitude with a focus on delivering high levels of service and support.
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to convey complex technical topics simply.
- Capability to collaborate across different teams, including Sales, Support, and Marketing.
- Full UK driving license, with willingness to visit customers across the UK, potentially involving occasional overnight stays.
