Our client is a well-established distributor of consumer electronics and wireless technology, with a growing presence in the IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) market. Employing around 75 people and generating annual revenues of approximately £125 million, they have built an excellent reputation within their industry.
They are now looking to appoint a Head of Operations to oversee operations across two sites located within ten minutes of each other. With one direct report yourself you will report directly to the Finance Director, you will play a key strategic role in ensuring business continuity, driving operational efficiency, maintaining compliance and supporting the long-term objectives of the business.
As Head of Operations, you will be responsible for leading the organisation's non-sales operational functions, ensuring effective governance, compliance and continuous improvement across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead business operations across property, leases, facilities management and non-product procurement.
- Oversee Health & Safety, Quality, Governance and Facilities functions.
- Develop, implement and maintain Group policies and procedures, ensuring consistency and regulatory compliance.
- Manage Group-wide insurance, contracts, intellectual property and corporate governance.
- Maintain ISO 9001 accreditation and support ongoing ISO 14001 initiatives.
- Build and manage relationships with suppliers, external legal advisers and service providers.
- Lead commercial contract negotiations, monitor supplier performance and mitigate operational risks.
- Line manage teams across Quality, Health & Safety and Facilities.
- Drive operational efficiencies, cost optimisation and continuous improvement across both sites.
Requirements:
Our client is looking for an experienced operations professional with a strong commercial mindset and the ability to influence at all levels of the business. You will ideally come from a distribution, manufacturing or logistics environment and have experience managing facilities, health and safety, quality systems and commercial contracts.
Essential Requirements:
- A minimum of five years' experience in a senior operational or strategic contract management role.
- Strong commercial awareness and operational leadership experience.
- Proven experience managing facilities, Health & Safety and Quality functions.
- Experience with ISO 9001 audits and quality management systems (ISO 14001 knowledge is desirable).
- Strong understanding of contracts, legal frameworks, insurance and corporate governance.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
- A full UK driving licence, as the role covers two sites.
