CRN UK is looking for a Reporter or Senior Reporter to join its UK editorial team at a key moment of growth and transition. This is a high-impact, front-line journalism role producing news, exclusive interviews and analysis that shapes conversation across the UK IT channel. This is not a desk-based role as we’re looking for someone who thrives on getting out into the market, building relationships and uncovering stories first-hand.

You’ll play a central role in driving the editorial agenda, breaking stories, building senior relationships across the market, and representing CRN both online and in person at industry events across the UK and Europe. You’ll report into the EMEA Editorial Director, Nima Sherpa Green.

Key responsibilities
  • Editorial & content
    • Drive the daily news agenda, producing timely and relevant content
    • Write a mix of breaking news, exclusives, interviews and analytical features
    • Generate and develop original story ideas aligned to audience interests
    • Deliver regular exclusives to differentiate CRN from competitors
    • Translate industry developments into clear commercial insight
  • Industry engagement & sourcing
    • Build and maintain a strong network of trusted industry contacts
    • Develop relationships with vendors, partners, distributors and PRs
    • Conduct interviews with senior executives, both remotely and in person
    • Actively spend time in the market meeting contacts face-to-face
    • Establish a visible, credible presence across the UK channel ecosystem
  • Events, travel & brand representation
    • Represent CRN at industry conferences, briefings and events in the UK and internationally
    • Travel regularly to attend and cover key industry events
    • Chair panels and moderate discussions with senior industry figures
    • Participate in webinars, podcasts and video content
    • Build a visible presence in the market through face-to-face engagement
  • Audience & digital engagement
    • Understand CRN’s audience and tailor content accordingly
    • Demonstrate (or be keen to develop) confidence on camera and on stage, supporting CRN’s growing video, webinar and live event presence
    • Promote stories via social media, primarily LinkedIn
    • Contribute to newsletters and broader digital output
    • Build personal credibility as a trusted voice
  • Market awareness
    • Monitor competitor activity and identify opportunities to differentiate
    • Contribute ideas to improve editorial impact and content formats
Skills & experience
  • Essential
    • At least 2–3+ years’ experience in a reporting or journalism role
    • Strong writing skills with attention to detail
    • Proven ability to generate stories and meet deadlines
    • Confidence engaging with stakeholders face-to-face and remotely
    • Comfortable with regular travel and event-based work
  • Desirable
    • Experience covering technology, IT channel or B2B sectors
    • Experience hosting webinars or moderating conference panels
    • Understanding of digital publishing or multimedia formats
