The Change Partners are working with a tier-1 FMCG brand who are hiring for a EDI Integration Middleware Engineer.
The EDI Integration Middleware Engineer will be responsible for designing and optimising EDI solutions, creating efficiencies across data flows, and ensuring full end-to-end ownership of integration projects.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical expert for EDI and middleware infrastructure, partnering with the Product Owner to align execution with long-term platform strategy.
- Direct the complete lifecycle of integration workflows, driving tasks from initial scoping and technical design through development, testing, deployment, and documentation.
- Autonomously oversee project timelines, mitigate integration risks, and maintain transparent communications with cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Architect a highly scalable, secure, and resilient platform that strictly adheres to established enterprise security principles and engineering standards.
- Lead the technical onboarding of external trading partners, coordinate system change requests, and manage vendor escalations.
- Interface directly with core business divisions and tech teams to gather precise integration requirements that support broader corporate milestones.
- Champion a best‑practices approach to message translation, routing, and error management across crucial data streams.
- Your experience
- Extensive background in middleware engineering, with a proven track record of maintaining and deploying robust EDI systems.
- Deep technical proficiency in global EDI standards and transfer protocols, specifically EDIFACT, XML, and AS2.
- Comprehensive understanding of standard transactional message types, such as purchase orders, advance shipping notices (ASNs), and invoices.
- Practical familiarity with modern web services, API architecture, and modern security frameworks including OAuth, JWT, and Open ID Connect.
- Exposure to cloud computing components, network virtualisation, and automated CI/CD deployment pipelines using tools like Git Hub or Azure Dev Ops.
- Prior experience delivering software solutions within global, multicultural teams utilizing Scrum and Agile frameworks.
