We are seeking a Head of Community Relations & Engagement to join an amazing transformation project. You will join one of the UK’s world-leading entertainment destinations! This is an exciting time to be joining one of the biggest regeneration projects to take place in the UK. This new vision will transform the venue into a unique destination, attracting visitors from the local community, London, the UK, and the rest of the world, for both leisure and business purposes.

This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining positive relations with the local community, the wider community, government, local authorities and media connections. The successful candidate will act as spokesperson and ambassador, the go-to person for these audiences.

We are seeking an individual with experience in organisations with close operational proximity to local residents, such as sports stadiums, venue operators, transport operators or property developers. An individual with strong media and community relations experience, and of delivering social value programs.

Responsibilities
  • To act as a spokesperson and ambassador, with and for, the local community and stakeholders.
  • Lead the development and execution of the Community Engagement strategy, managing and maintaining community and local government relations.
  • Represent the community, and ensure the business has an understanding and visibility of the community.
  • Create and maintain methods of community engagement that promote and deliver effective dialogue, participation and engagement from richly diverse communities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders including residents, community groups, charities, institutions, local businesses, media, councillors and politicians.
  • To lead and coordinate the formal consultation processes with the community to ensure planning requirements are met.
  • Be the point of contact for all community questions and correspondence.
  • Represent the community in internal meetings and forums.
  • Works with tenant partners to seek to align and coordinate social value efforts across the estate.
  • Work with the Brand & Events team to plan activities that add positive social value.
Skills required
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar public-facing role or equivalent.
  • Able to demonstrate ownership of community-facing relations and organisational representation.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective leadership and engagement in developing policies and initiatives.
  • Political and commercial acumen.
  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, community development, communications, or a related field is preferred.

This role is a hybrid role requiring 4 days in the office and 1 day working from home.
