# Finance ManagerAccounting / Finance,Finance ManagerSeptember 25, 2026Permanent### Job Description* Permanent* Wakefield* Posted 16 hours ago* £50,000 – £55,000 per annum + HybridWebsite**CV-Library**I'm working with a successful and growing entertainment business within West Yorkshire that is looking to appoint an experienced Finance Manager to oversee its finance function and manage the existing accounts team.This is an important role within the business, with responsibility for ensuring the day-to-day finance operation runs effectively, financial information is accurate and produced on time, and the accounts team is well managed and supported.Working closely with the Directors and wider management team, the Finance Manager will take ownership of the finance function, providing strong financial control, accurate reporting and effective management of the team.This would suit an experienced Finance Manager, Financial Controller or senior Accountant who enjoys working within an SME environment and is comfortable being both hands-on with the numbers and responsible for managing a small finance team.Key responsibilities will include:Managing and supporting the day-to-day finance function and overseeing the existing accounts teamProviding effective leadership, guidance and development to the finance teamTaking responsibility for the month-end close process, ensuring accounts are completed accurately and within agreed deadlinesPreparing and reviewing monthly management accounts and financial reports for the DirectorsOverseeing purchase ledger, sales ledger, nominal ledger and reconciliationsMonitoring cash flow, bank balances and working capital, ensuring the business maintains appropriate financial controlManaging the budgeting and forecasting process and providing regular updates to the DirectorsProducing accurate financial analysis and management information to support the leadership teamReviewing financial performance against budget and providing clear explanations for significant variancesEnsuring appropriate financial controls and processes are in place across the businessOverseeing VAT returns, payroll, statutory accounts and year-end processes, working with external accountants and advisers where appropriateSupporting the preparation of information for external audit or year-end reportingEnsuring balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and on a timely basisIdentifying opportunities to improve finance processes, systems and reportingSupporting the implementation and development of finance systems where requiredDealing with ad-hoc financial queries and providing support to the Directors and wider businessEnsuring the finance team operates efficiently and maintains a high level of accuracy and attention to detailThe client is looking for:ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, part-qualified or an experienced finance professional with strong relevant experiencePrevious experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Senior Management Accountant or similar roleProven experience of managing or supervising an accounts/finance teamStrong technical accounting knowledge and experience across management accounts, reconciliations, month-end and financial reportingGood knowledge of VAT, year-end accounts and financial controlsStrong Excel skills and experience working with finance/accounting systemsExcellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to financial reportingGood communication and people-management skills, with the ability to support and develop members of the finance teamThe confidence to work closely with Directors and senior management within an SME environmentA hands-on approach and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy and fast-paced businessIf you're an experienced Finance Manager looking for a hands-on role within a successful SME, this could be an excellent opportunity to take ownership of an established finance function and lead a small accounts team.You'll have the opportunity to work closely with the Directors, make a real difference to the day-to-day running of the finance function and play an important role in supporting the continued growth of the business.INDFIN #J-18808-Ljbffr
