We are seeking a strong and experienced finance manager to join our team in Manchester.Reporting to the Finance Controller, the Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and transactional processes throughout the finance function, in addition to supporting with implementing further improvements and strategy projects. Working closely with the Finance Controller, you will be a key member in ensuring that our Client\’s Finance function is working at its optimum potential, rippling the efficiencies throughout the department across our client\’s organization. The Finance Manager role will also have a business partnering feel, by having an analytical approach and the ability to be involved in adding significant value to the business, to build further commercial awareness and assist in the company\’s growth plans.
Responsibilities
- Day to day, you will be responsible for managing all transactional finance tasks; relating to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash & Bank functions including forecasting, reconciliations and enforcing General Ledger controls.
- Responsible for compiling the month end reporting packs to include analysis, and commentary. This will include posting journals, completing balance sheet reconciliations and report preparation to ensure decisions made are based on the most accurate of month end results.
- Reporting and liaising with Directors/ Heads of, of each department to provide analysis, support and improvement suggestions based on the month end results.
- Supporting and working with the Finance Controller to manage and maintain corporate governance throughout the organization using policies and procedures, to meet all compliance requirements.
- Assist with the enforcement of financial controls, spend and budgetary controls, statutory submission deadlines. Supporting the key pillars of an efficient finance team.
- Support the CFO andFinance Controller with providing required information to internal and external stakeholders, meeting reporting deadlines.
- Assist with the implementation of financial and business improvements to help gain efficiencies throughout Finance and the wider team.
- Present reports on sales, expenses, and revenue including forecasts to key stakeholders.
- Assist with the learning and development of future team members, ensuring current team members and other departments have a sound understanding of their tasks and implications to finance.
Skills / Experience
- Experience of involvement in a range of financial operational tasks, including; Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, Cash Management, Payroll and Management Accounts.
- Experience in managing and processing month end and good understanding of PAYE and VAT
- Proficient in the use of all aspects of Microsoft office, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Preferably CIMA, ACCA, or ACA qualified. Although part qualification will be considered
- Experience of a financial analyst role or a proven track record of working within a financial analytics environment
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Have a proven track record of commercial awareness and examples of adding commercial value
- Experience in managing financial transactional processes.
- Hands on approach and capable of meeting deadlines
- Comfortable with initiating suggestions for improvements and process changes
- Solid understanding of accounts and effects of process changes
