We are looking for a commercially minded Events Lead to lead the planning and execution of high-impact events that connect us with business owners, MDs/CEOs and key decision-makers.
Role Overview
As Events Lead whilst working in the marketing team, you will be responsible for leading the channel, owning the events function end to end, developing the strategy as well as proactively designing and delivering a calendar of events that support lead generation and brand positioning. The right person for this role won’t wait for events to come to them but will go out and make them happen. They lead the room in meetings, bring ideas with substance behind them, and own the responsibility of filling the events calendar. You’ll work closely with the marketing and regional teams to ensure each event delivers measurable value.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively build and maintain a full events calendar targeting a minimum of two events per month.
- Drive outreach and conversations with Regional Directors across the network to identify topics, speakers and dates and collaborate with the commercial team to tailor events to local market needs.
- Lead the events strategy, bring ideas, develop formats, and propose how the channel can perform better.
- Own, plan and execute a mix of in-person, virtual, and hybrid events including but not limited to:
- Thought leadership national webinars
- Face to face regional events
- Helping support the Partnerships Manager with partnership events.
- Helping support wider business in any company events, such as internal conferences.
- Build a promotional plan for every event. Own the complete end to end event promotion; pre-event and post event follow up.
- Proven track record of owning events from concept through to delivery and post-event reporting; venue sourcing, supplier management, logistics, delegate management, and post-event reporting.
- Work with the content and digital teams to promote events and maximise attendance.
- Track performance against KPIs such as attendance, engagement, lead quality, and ROI.
- Collaborate with multiple teams across the business including but not limited to, Regional Directors, Divisional Directors, Telesales, and HubSpot teams to align event activity with wider commercial goals.
- Support the Marketing Lead with campaign alignment in event topics as well as additional tasks as required.
- Ensure all events reflect The CFO Centre’s premium brand and values.
- KPI’s against volume of events, attendance, leads and wins.
- Own and manage your own events budget for the year.
- Occasionally expected to travel within the UK to support any events.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in B2B event management, ideally in professional services or financial services.
- Understanding of lead generation, marketing, and sales enablement through events.
- A proven record of designing and delivering events that generate measurable leads or pipeline.
- Hands-on experience directly promoting events across channels or working with relevant teams (e.g. email, social, paid, partner channels).
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Experience managing budgets and negotiating with suppliers.
- Confident using event platforms (e.g., Zoom, Eventbrite).
- Previous experience in using HubSpot for events.
