Client

Our subsidiary Global Markets Recruitment (“GMR”) works with a leading bulge‑bracket bank, a pre‑eminent investment bank, to source entry‑level interns for its global cash, equities and other markets divisions.

Focus

As an Investment Banking Analyst – Intern, you will support complex capital‑markets and advisory transactions – mergers, acquisitions, capital raising – working alongside senior bankers to analyse opportunities, structure deals and assist clients on strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of investment banking transactions, including M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory mandates
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models and analyses to evaluate transactions and strategic options
  • Prepare client‑facing materials, including pitch decks, information memoranda, and transaction documentation
  • Conduct company, industry, and market research to support deal origination and execution
  • Assist senior bankers in coordinating transaction work‑streams and managing timelines
  • Support due diligence processes, including data analysis and coordination with internal and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to client development activities through research, analysis, and preparation of marketing materials
  • Assess transaction‑related risks and support adherence to regulatory, compliance, and internal control requirements
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, organisation, and confidentiality across all work
  • Work effectively with colleagues across banking, markets, legal, risk, and compliance teams

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently studying a university degree ideally in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline; candidates from other numerate backgrounds (Scientific, Engineering, Arts, etc.) are also considered
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce client‑ready materials
  • High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Sound judgement and a strong understanding of risk, compliance, and regulatory expectations

Reward Structure

  • Internship lasts six weeks, with competitive compensation and bonus for time
  • Opportunity for a permanent offer within the bank’s graduate programme
  • Relocation support provided; starting salaries £75,000 to £90,000 depending on experience
  • Bonus programme: on‑target bonus of 50% of base salary and up to 125% for high‑achievers
