The Centre for Emotional Health is recruiting for a Head of Business Development to work with our friendly and nurturing team, helping us grow our reach, develop new opportunities and build strong, lasting relationships with our partners and customers. We are looking for someone with a strong track record in business development and income generation who can build influential partnerships, is confident leading strategic growth initiatives, and is motivated by helping a values-led charity achieve greater impact and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
Income Generation and Business Development Strategic Partnerships and External Relations CRM, Customer Insight and Market Intelligence Communications, Marketing and Organisational Profile Strategy Income Generation and Business Development Develop and implement a sales and marketing strategy, working alongside Financial Controller, Operations Lead and Communications & Engagement Manager Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to maximise customer retention Identify and develop innovative opportunities to pursue new customers, diversify income streams and extend the charity's reach Monitor customer needs and identify opportunities for product, service and resource development Develop and maintain a pipeline of opportunities through grants, commissioning, tenders and partnerships Lead on writing high-quality tender submissions Work with colleagues to write grant applications and reports, as required.
Strategic Partnerships and External Relations Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including peer organisations, sector networks, and government and policy stakeholders.
Represent the charity at external meetings, conferences, events and networks Develop and secure strategic partnerships that increase the charity's influence, reach and impact. CRM, Customer Insight and Market Intelligence Lead the use and development of the charity's CRM system Ensure accurate recording and management of customer, partner and stakeholder data Monitor sales pipelines and customer engagement activity Analyse customer feedback, engagement data and market trends, using insight to inform service development, customer retention and business growth Monitor policy developments, sector trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities and risks.
Communications, Marketing and Organisational Profile Lead the charity's communications, marketing and engagement strategy Oversee digital marketing activity to drive sales, including website, email, social media and SEO Oversee production of marketing materials, working closely with Design & Resources Coordinator and Communications & Engagement Manager Promote the charity's impact, expertise and thought leadership Identify opportunities to increase visibility through media, events, partnerships and campaigns.
Strategy Work closely with the Chief Executive and Strategy Team to shape the charity's long-term direction and sustainability Contribute to Strategy Team Meetings and organisational planning Develop and manage the business development budget Use data and insight to drive continuous improvement Report on business development activity, income generation and partnership outcomes.
General Other duties: to carry out any other duties as requested by and agreed with the CEO and commensurate with the post; to adhere to The Centre for Emotional Health policies and procedures.
Essential Experience and knowledge Significant experience in business development, income generation, partnership development or a similar role Experience building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, funders, partners and other stakeholders Experience using market intelligence, customer insight, performance data and sector knowledge to identify and secure new income opportunities through contracts, tenders, grants, partnerships or commissioned services Experience developing and delivering strategies that support organisational growth, sustainability and impact Experience writing successful funding bids, tenders, proposals or business cases Experience using CRM systems to manage relationships, opportunities and pipeline activity Experience representing an organisation externally with senior stakeholders.
