We are looking to recruit a part-time Healthcare Assistant or phlebotomist to join our nursing team on a temporary basis. Working 20-24 hours per week at Central Surgery in Barton-upon-Humber and our branch surgery in Goxhill.

Main duties of the job

  • Working under the direct supervision of our lead nurse you will support the clinical team and provide direct patient care.
  • Within your own clinic you will provide services including but not limited to:
    • blood pressure monitoring
    • recording of patient observations
    • ECGs
    • diabetic foot checks

Job responsibilities

  • ECG recording
  • Chaperoning new patient health checks
  • Samples
  • Diabetic foot checks
  • Supporting the nursing team with various health promotion programmes
  • Monitoring and stocking of clinical rooms
  • Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses
  • Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
  • Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions

This list is not exhaustive and all duties are subject to appropriate training and under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Completion of the HCA Care Certificate
  • Immunisation and Vaccination certification

Experience

  • Experience of working with the general public
  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting
  • Experience of working as a HCA in a GP Practice
