As Sous Chef, you'll play akey role in supporting the Head Chef to deliver consistently high standards, inspire the kitchen team and help drive the continued success of one of Newport's most exciting dining destinations.

  • Our ideal candidate will have
  • Professional Chef qualifications to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Astrong understanding of menu planning, food costing and kitchenprofitability
  • Comprehensiveknowledge of HACCP and food safety standards
  • Experienceworking in a high-volume, quality-focused restaurant, hotel or hospitalityenvironment
  • Experienceleading and developing a kitchen team of five or more colleagues
  • Aproven ability to deliver consistently high standards during busy serviceperiods
  • Food Hygiene Level 2 certification (or above)
  • Excellentorganisational skills and the ability to thrive under pressure
  • Apassion for fresh food, great presentation and delivering exceptionalguest experiences
  • Apositive, hands-on leadership style with a commitment to developing others
  • Implementing our 'Yes, We Can' philosophy, you will
  • Supportthe Head Chef in the day-to-day operation of Casa's kitchen
  • Leadand motivate the kitchen brigade, ensuring consistently high standards offood quality and presentation
  • Assistwith menu development, seasonal specials and cost-effective menu planning
  • Managefood ordering, stock control and supplier relationships
  • Ensureall deliveries are checked, stored and rotated correctly in line withcompany procedures
  • Maintainexceptional standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
  • Workclosely with the Restaurant Manager to ensure a seamless guest experience
  • Driveefficiency and minimise waste while maintaining quality standards
  • Train, coach and develop team members to help them reach their full potential
  • Leadby example during service, creating a positive and productive workingenvironment
