As the Product Sustainability Coordinator, you'll work on products sold by all major supermarkets, giving you real visibility and impact. As part of a small, high-performing team, your contribution will matter and you'll quickly build the confidence to work with senior leadership and global suppliers.

In this role, you'll:

  • Gain end-to-end exposure to the product lifecycle
  • Build expertise in compliance, packaging, and sustainability
  • Develop confidence influencing decisions and challenging where needed

You’ll support the development of new products and packaging, ensuring everything is safe, compliant, accurate, and increasingly sustainable. This is a hands-on, detail-focused role where you'll balance multiple priorities from testing products to reviewing packaging and managing supplier documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research products and identify testing and compliance requirements
  • Carry out internal testing and maintain accurate, audit-ready records
  • Work with international (including Far East) suppliers on specifications
  • Manage documentation with strong attention to detail and version control
  • Review packaging copy and support artwork approvals
  • Ensure correct use of recycling and sustainability labelling
  • Keep up to date with relevant legal, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Support sustainable packaging initiatives and track material data
  • Maintain product information in internal systems (SAP experience helpful)

About You

You’re organised, detail-driven, and confident working across multiple stakeholders. You’re comfortable challenging where needed and enjoy being part of a collaborative team.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience in product development, compliance, technical, or quality (FMCG or retail preferred)
  • Understanding of product, packaging, and environmental compliance
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
  • Experience working with suppliers and managing multiple deadlines
  • Intermediate Excel skills and confidence using systems (SAP beneficial)
  • Interest in sustainability and packaging
  • Confidence to work with senior stakeholders and external partners

You may also have:

  • Knowledge of packaging materials, recyclability, and labelling (e.g. OPRL)
  • Familiarity with product testing, artwork approval, or supplier accreditation
  • Experience working with overseas suppliers
  • Awareness of regulations such as HFSS, DRS, EUDR, or similar frameworks
