The CDR Collective is partnered with an independent, growing accountancy practice in East Kent that is looking to appoint an experienced Private or Corporate Tax professional at Assistant Manager or Manager level. This is an opportunity to join a practice where tax goes beyond compliance. The team works closely with clients, taking the time to understand their businesses and provide advice that supports wider commercial decisions.

What you'll be doing

  • Managing a portfolio of corporate tax clients and building strong, long-term relationships
  • Preparing and reviewing corporation tax computations and returns
  • Providing corporate tax advice and identifying opportunities for clients
  • Supporting clients with tax planning and wider business decisions
  • Working closely with colleagues across accounts and other areas of the practice
  • Meeting clients face-to-face and, where appropriate, working alongside their finance team or FD
  • Supporting more junior members of the team and sharing your technical knowledge

The client base includes substantial family-owned and multi-generational businesses, HNWI's, growing SMEs and privately owned businesses, so the work is commercially complex and interesting.

The practice is forward-thinking and continues to embrace technology and AI to improve efficiency as it grows. Several of the current directors joined the practice as trainees, giving a strong indication of the opportunities available to those who want to build a long-term career with the firm. You'll have the opportunity to broaden your commercial understanding, strengthen your advisory skills and take on increasing responsibility as your experience grows.

About you

You'll ideally be operating at Assistant Manager level, with a strong background in corporate tax and the confidence to deal directly with clients. You are a Tax Senior, Assistant Manager, Corporate Tax Manager or Private Tax Manager. What matters most is your technical ability, commercial approach and desire to take on more responsibility. Experience working with privately owned or family businesses would be particularly relevant, although sector experience isn't essential.
