Main Function: The Technical Sales Representative sells farm-related products (feeds, equipment, chemicals, tech) by building relationships with farmers, providing expert technical advice (product use, troubleshooting), conducting demos/trials, managing territories, and driving sales growth while staying updated on market trends and regulations. The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for ensuring the company’s products are well represented in the marketplace.
Their role includes:
- Providing technical expertise to customers
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers
- Driving sales growth by identifying new opportunities
- Gathering and sharing market insight, competitor analysis and customer feedback to inform sales strategies and product development
- Conducting training sessions with customers (farmers)
- Working closely with internal teams including marketing, logistics and accounting
- Staying current with industry developments, best practices and new technologies to improve technical skills
- Visiting customers and training venues
- Managing sales-related administrative tasks such as order uploading
- Coordinating orders and collections between customers and the company
- Being committed to ensuring 100% customer satisfaction
- Attending and participating in all relevant meetings and other approved company events
- Ensuring collections are made on a timely basis for all goods supplied by the company to the customers
- Protecting all assets belonging to the company entrusted in your care
- Submitting weekly reports to the Sales Manager

Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, Experience
- At least an Associate Degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, or related field (preferred)
- 2–5 years of proven experience in agricultural sales, agronomy, or related roles
- Strong knowledge of livestock and animal health
- Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Ability to build trusted relationships with growers and industry partners
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to work independently
- Experienced Open General driver with clean track record
