The Control Room operator is responsible for supporting all plant activities involved in the manufacturing of animal feed. These include the receiving and storage of raw and packaging materials, the processing, packaging and storage of finished feeds, and the maintenance of good manufacturing and safety practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Products are made to the defined standards.
  • Inventory is properly accounted for and records are maintained.
  • Raw materials are used following FIFO.
  • Standard operation procedures are followed.
  • The plant work area and the plant as a whole is kept in a clean and sanitary condition.
  • Samples of raw material and finished feeds are collected and handed over to the quality assurance department.

Other responsibilities:

  • Conducts minor maintenance activities directly related to the effective operations of all equipment and machines.
  • Observes all security, safety and environmental requirements and reports any breach to a supervisor or any superiors.
  • Performs all duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary level qualification in Engineering, Agriculture or Applied Sciences.
  • Mechanically and/or electrically inclined.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills and communication.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
