We’re looking for a Technician in the Science Department who is organised, enthusiastic, and excited by the buzz of a busy school laboratory. This is a role at the heart of learning, working behind the scenes to support fantastic teaching, and helping students discover the wonder of science.
Responsibilities
- Preparing exciting practical experiments across biology, chemistry and physics
- Keeping our laboratories safe, organised and fully stocked
- Supporting teachers to deliver engaging, practical science lessons
- Maintaining and caring for specialist equipment
The successful candidate should be able to start work before school to enable the preparation of lessons for the day, however some flexibility regarding the hours is possible for the right candidate.

- Previous experience in a similar role or an interest in science is desirable; however, the successful candidate will be given suitable on-the-job training.
Salary and Benefits
- £25,185 - £25,989 Permanent
- 37 hours per week
- 8:00am - 4:00pm Monday to Thursday, 8:30am - 4:00pm on Friday (includes an unpaid 30‑minute daily lunch break)
- 39 weeks per year (Term time plus INSET days)
- Grade 14 NJC points 4-6 - FTE Actual starting salary - £21,566
