We are looking for a reliable and skilled Maintenance Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the hotel is maintained to the highest standard, providing a safe, comfortable, and well-presented environment for our guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general repairs and maintenance throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas.
- Respond promptly to maintenance issues reported by reception or housekeeping.
- Perform routine inspections of rooms and facilities to identify and resolve potential issues.
- Basic plumbing, electrical, painting, decorating, and carpentry work.
- Maintain heating, lighting, and water systems.
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular fire alarm checks, emergency lighting tests, and legionella checks (if trained).
- Work alongside external contractors when required.
- Assist with room moves, furniture assembly, and general upkeep of the building and grounds.
- Keep maintenance records up to date.
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous maintenance experience (hotel experience preferred but not essential).
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrics, and general building maintenance.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication skills.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional weekends if required.
