We are looking for a reliable and skilled Maintenance Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the hotel is maintained to the highest standard, providing a safe, comfortable, and well-presented environment for our guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out general repairs and maintenance throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance issues reported by reception or housekeeping.
  • Perform routine inspections of rooms and facilities to identify and resolve potential issues.
  • Basic plumbing, electrical, painting, decorating, and carpentry work.
  • Maintain heating, lighting, and water systems.
  • Ensure all maintenance work complies with health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular fire alarm checks, emergency lighting tests, and legionella checks (if trained).
  • Work alongside external contractors when required.
  • Assist with room moves, furniture assembly, and general upkeep of the building and grounds.
  • Keep maintenance records up to date.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous maintenance experience (hotel experience preferred but not essential).
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrics, and general building maintenance.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks.
