Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Quantity Surveyor to join our Building Refurbishment division. You’ll bring strong commercial acumen, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage costs, valuations, and contractual requirements with confidence. Experience of working with JCT contracts is essential, as these form the basis of most of our projects.
Our work spans a variety of refurbishment projects, including window replacements, fire remediation (EWI, fire doors, fire alarms, sprinkler systems, dry risers), and kitchen and bathroom upgrades. You should be comfortable working across these areas, supporting both planned and responsive programmes of work.
You’ll also be working closely with social housing providers, delivering projects across detached, semi-detached, and high-rise properties. Strong communication skills, a collaborative approach, and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients, supply chain partners, and colleagues will be key to your success.
The Detail:
- Manage valuations, payments, and commercial reporting, including cost/value reconciliations and final accounts.
- Oversee subcontractor procurement and management, ensuring compliance with financial, contractual, and H&S requirements.
- Assess and value changes, handling variations, compensation events, and claims for extensions of time or loss/expense.
- Liaise with clients and the supply chain on commercial matters and provide contract administration support.
- Maximise project profitability through risk management, dispute resolution, and cost control.
- Support estimating teams in pricing tenders where required.
- Provide commercial guidance to project teams, ensuring adherence to change control and contract procedures.
What we offer you:
- Salary up to £70k depending on experience
- Car Allowance of £4500 per annum
- Tusker Car Scheme – Lease a fully-expensed car through this salary sacrifice scheme
- Pension Scheme - We contribute 2.5% more than the employee's pension contribution, up to a maximum of 7.5% (e.g. employee puts 5% in, Casey puts 7.5% in)
- Life Assurance/Death-in-Service benefit – Equivalent to 3x your salary
- 26 days holiday plus bank holidays (2-week shutdown at Christmas) including option to buy, sell or carry over up to 5 days holiday each year. Also we have the Casey Loyalty Scheme – receive 1 extra day’s holiday for every year you work at Casey.
- Hybrid / Flexible working
- Bi-annual company wellbeing day & Employee Assistance Programme – 24/7 access for employees and their families
- Bupa Private Healthcare
- Free eyes test and discounted eye wear
- Access to our Casey Benefits portal – discounts on shopping, days out, gym memberships etc.
