Working as part of the Schoolroom team and alongside the wider kitchen brigade, you'll have the freedom to bring ideas to menus, utilise ingredients creatively and help create a welcoming space where colleagues can recharge, connect and enjoy great food throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing and cooking a daily selection of hot meals, soups, sandwiches and salads.
  • Planning and creating varied menus that cater to a diverse workforce.
  • Using ingredients creatively to minimise waste and maximise value.
  • Maintaining attractive and well stocked food displays throughout service.
  • Supporting dietary, allergen and nutritional requirements.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider kitchen team to ensure a seamless operation.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety and organisation.
  • Following HACCP procedures, temperature monitoring and food labelling requirements.
  • Contributing ideas to keep the offering fresh, balanced and engaging.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Previous experience in a professional kitchen, catering operation or hospitality environment.
  • A passion for fresh, home-cooked food.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
  • Someone who can contribute to good team dynamics.
  • A proactive and flexible approach.
  • Strong food hygiene and food safety awareness.
  • Food Hygiene certification (or willingness to obtain this).
