Families are at the heart of The Carnegie Club experience. Children of all ages visit Skibo throughout the year, enjoying dedicated activity spaces alongside the freedom to explore our 8,000-acre estate in a safe and inspiring environment. Our Children's Barn team delivers memorable indoor and outdoor experiences, from creative activities such as baking and crafts to outdoor adventures including bushcraft, canoeing and treasure hunts. During school holidays, the team supports a programme of family-focused events and celebrations, while in the evenings we offer a professional babysitting service, allowing parents to relax knowing their children are in safe, capable hands.
As a Babysitter, you will support families by providing attentive, caring and reliable childcare during evening hours. Working closely with the wider Children's Barn team, you’ll help ensure children feel safe, comfortable and settled while maintaining a calm and nurturing environment. Babysitting typically takes place within the family’s accommodation on the estate and may include supporting evening routines such as mealtimes, quiet play and bedtime. On occasion, you may also assist with themed events or seasonal activities to help create enjoyable and memorable experiences for children.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing safe, attentive and age-appropriate care for children
- Following parental guidance regarding routines, allergies and individual needs
- Creating a calm, reassuring and engaging environment
- Supervising bedtime routines and ensuring children settle comfortably
- Building positive, trusting relationships with parents and carers
- Supporting occasional family events or seasonal activities when required
About You
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in childcare, babysitting, childminding or nannying
- Confidence caring for children of varying ages and managing multiple needs
- Ability to follow routines and instructions with care and attention to detail
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and at short notice
- Aged 18 or over with your own transport as finishing times are changeable
