Providing a haven of peace and tranquillity for our members and guests, the Skibo Spa complex is home to the Club's swimming pool and gym facilities. The swimming pool was originally built for Andrew Carnegie in the early 1900s and underwent a sympathetic renovation in 2006. It remains one of The Carnegie Club’s most iconic spaces. The stainless steel-lined pool is ozone treated, and the building is temperature controlled to ensure optimal comfort for our members. The gym is equipped with Peloton bikes, Life Fitness treadmills and rowing machines, as well as free weights, kettlebells and a range of other fitness equipment.
We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented individual to join our Spa team as a Leisure Facilities Attendant, with a strong focus on maintaining exceptionally high standards of cleanliness across our pool, gym and Spa areas. This role is ideal for someone who takes genuine pride in their work, enjoys working independently, and gains satisfaction from keeping environments immaculate, safe and well cared for. - Supporting the safe operation of the pool and leisure areas through regular checks
- Assisting members and guests when required, answering questions and offering guidance in a friendly, confident manner
- Taking a proactive approach by identifying opportunities to improve routines, presentation standards or ways of working
You’ll be a reliable presence within the Spa, contributing to a calm, well-organised environment and working closely with colleagues across the Club to support smooth daily operations.
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in cleaning, housekeeping, leisure or hospitality environments is desirable, though not essential
- A strong practical understanding of cleanliness, hygiene and safe working practices
- Ability to work independently, managing tasks and priorities with minimal supervision
- Confidence communicating with members and guests when needed, in a polite and professional manner
- A proactive approach to identifying issues and suggesting improvements

- Reliable, self-motivated and conscientious in their approach to work
- Calm, focused and methodical, even during busy periods
- Approachable and professional when interacting with members and colleagues
- Forward-thinking and engaged, with a desire to continually improve how things are done
You don’t need to meet every point listed above to be a great fit for the role. Instead, focus on showcasing your strongest skills, experience and personal qualities - we’re interested in what makes you a great fit for the role and how you can contribute your unique strengths to our team.
