Our client, an independent London based craft brewery, is looking to recruit a Head Brewer to take the lead on brewing and beer quality and oversee production with their partner breweries.
Responsibilities
- Manage all brewing activities with hands on brewing and packing.
- Lead and be responsible for Health & Safety in the brewery, implementing continuous improvement.
- Ownership of the SALSA accreditation, ensuring compliance.
- Work with the brewing schedule to brew beer efficiently.
- Develop the Lead Brewer and Brewer to maximise their potential and set them up for growth, through knowledge sharing, professional development and formal training.
- Lead customer interactions in the brewery, including engaging, interactive tours for select customers.
- Keep up to date with industry trends and developments, ensuring beers are relevant and evolving.
- Work with suppliers, maintaining contracts and quality.
- Work closely with contract brewers, ensuring best in class process and continual improvement in quality, presentation, taste and aroma.
- Develop quality management systems, ensuring contract brewed beers are of the highest quality.
- Lead the NPD process for the company.
- Sign off beers for release.
Skills and Experience
- CIBD Diploma in Brewing or Degree in Brewing or equivalent 5+ years in a brewing environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong project management skills. Detail oriented and committed to quality.
- Innovative and creative.
