Role Summary
The Marketing Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of our marketing and audience engagement activity ensuring workflows run smoothly, stakeholders are supported effectively, and marketing outputs meet agreed standards. You’ll report directly to the Marketing & Audience Engagement Lead, with close interaction with our Strategic Communications, and as part of a high functioning Strategy & Communications division. This role supports senior leadership on strategy and planning, while strengthening delivery pace, consistency and quality across External Affairs.
Main Responsibilities
- Campaign and activity delivery
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of agreed marketing and audience engagement campaigns across CEC’s priority audiences.
- Translate strategic briefs into clear delivery plans, timelines and outputs.
- Coordinate content creation, approvals and publishing across channels and campaign assets - working closely with the Digital Marketing Manager, Design team and Senior Marketing Officer.
- Ensure all outputs are audience appropriate, on brand and quality assured prior to release.
- Manage campaign evaluation, reporting and insight capture, sharing learning with wider teams and senior leadership where relevant.
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive and high-performing team culture.
- Marketing operations
- Own the operational marketing plan, audience engagement calendar and workflow management.
- Use performance data and audience insight to recommend improvements and optimisation across the External Affairs team.
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders requesting fundamental marketing support.
- Manage and interpret briefs, dependencies and delivery schedules – by doing so, identify delivery risks early and propose practical solutions, escalating where necessary.
- Support consistent use of tools, systems and processes to improve efficiency and visibility of work (e.g. Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Umbraco/Drupal, HotJar, GA4).
- Stakeholder and cross-team working
- Work collaboratively with teams across the organisation to understand needs and ensure marketing activity supports team and organisational priorities.
- Work with the Marketing & Audience Engagement Lead across the company to ensure the audience/customer lens (e.g. educators, employers, Careers Hubs) is represented and contributes to future strategic planning effectively.
- Represent marketing in project groups and working meetings where delivery input is required.
- Ensure clear and frequent communication and expectation setting with stakeholders throughout delivery.
- Support overall External Affairs outputs where necessary.
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience in planning, designing and delivering multichannel marketing and communications campaigns.
- Highly collaborative nature with the ability to identify and manage key stakeholders, building rapport and constructive relationships across teams.
- Strong understanding of brand, marketing channels and creative outputs.
- Managing projects and performance against agreed KPIs.
- Experience working with creative, digital and content specialists.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail.
