About the Programme
Career Tree, in partnership with LSST, delivers a Software and Web Development Bootcamp designed to prepare learners for entry-level roles such as Junior Web Developer, Front-End Developer, or Technical Support Developer. The programme combines practical training in Python, Flask, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and AI-supported development tools such as ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot. Learners build real-world coding projects, develop a professional GitHub portfolio, and finish with a guaranteed interview with a hiring employer.
Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Software and Web Development Tutor to deliver engaging, hands-on training that empowers learners to build modern web applications. You will guide participants through foundational coding, back-end and front-end development, and integrating AI tools into the workflow. This is a hybrid role combining in-person teaching at our London campuses with online delivery. You will support learners from diverse backgrounds, helping them gain job-ready skills and the confidence to enter the digital workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver interactive lessons covering Python, Flask, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and AI-assisted coding tools.
- Guide learners through practical projects, debugging, and code reviews.
- Support portfolio and GitHub development aligned with junior developer roles.
- Provide individual and group mentoring, feedback, and employability coaching.
- Collaborate with Career Treeβs Employer Engagement team to align projects with industry needs.
- Prepare learners for interviews and technical assessments with employer partners.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Strong professional or teaching background in software or web development.
- Proficiency in Python, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and a framework such as Flask or Django.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools (ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot).
- Knowledge of databases, version control (Git/GitHub), and agile practices.
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills; ability to teach complex topics clearly.
- Experience supporting adult learners or delivering bootcamp-style training (desirable).
