The Care Bureau

Domiciliary Care Worker β€” Part-Time

The Care Bureau | Wellingborough, Kettering and Northampton

Looking for part-time work that means something?

Ever had one of those days where a small act of kindness made everything better? That's basically the job description. As a Domiciliary Care Worker with The Care Bureau, you'll help people live independently, safely, and happily in their own homes β€” and you'll go home every day knowing you've genuinely made a difference to someone's life.

This role is perfect if you're after part-time hours that fit around family life, studies, or another job. No previous care experience needed β€” just a kind heart and a bit of patience. And if you've cared for a family member, volunteered, or worked in retail, hospitality or similar people-facing roles, those skills count for more than you'd think.

What You'll Be Doing

No two days are the same. You might be:

  • Helping someone get washed, dressed and ready to start their day
  • Making a cuppa and a bit of breakfast, and staying for a chat
  • Popping to the shops or picking up a prescription
  • Giving someone a hand with their medication
  • Doing a bit of light housework, laundry or bed-making
  • Simply being there β€” company, conversation, and a friendly face

It's hands-on, it's varied, and it genuinely matters. You'll be supporting people to stay independent, comfortable and dignified in their own homes.

Hours to Suit You

We know part-time work needs to fit around real life, so:

  • Shifts fall between 6:30am and 10:30pm β€” pick mornings, evenings, weekends, or a mix
  • Choose a few hours a week or build up to more β€” it's flexible around you
  • Great as a second job, a return-to-work role, or something to fit around college or other commitments
  • No long shifts stuck in one place β€” visits are short and varied, so a few hours can genuinely fly by

What We're Looking For

  • A caring, patient and reliable nature
  • Good communication skills
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle (required, for getting between visits)
  • Willingness to learn β€” full training is provided, so previous care experience isn't essential
  • A DBS check will be required (don't worry, we cover the cost β€” see below!)

If you're kind, dependable and want a job where you can really see the difference you make in just a few hours a week, that's the most important quality we look for.

What We Offer

We know this work is demanding, so we make sure you're properly looked after too:

  • πŸ’· Competitive hourly rates
  • πŸš— 30p per mile paid between calls
  • 🎁 Up to Β£500 through our referral scheme*
  • πŸ’™ Free Blue Light Card – access to thousands of discounts
  • 🌴 28 days holiday (pro rata) plus a pension scheme
  • πŸŽ‚ An extra paid day off each year to celebrate your birthday, taken at a time that works for you and the business.
  • πŸŽ„ Christmas bonus*
  • πŸ” Free enhanced DBS check*
  • πŸŽ“ Fully paid classroom and on-the-job training
  • ☎️ Wellbeing support helpline
  • πŸ“œ Fully funded RQF qualifications – build a real career in care, on us

*Terms apply β€” ask us for details.

Why Care Work?

Because it's real. Because you'll build genuine relationships with the people you support. Because every visit, however small it might seem, can be the highlight of someone's day. It's not always easy, but it's rarely boring, and it's one of the few jobs where you can finish a shift knowing exactly what good you've done.

Ready to Apply?

If this sounds like you β€” whether you're after a few hours a week to fit around your life, starting your very first job in care, or bringing years of experience β€” we'd love to hear from you.
