Our client, a large distributor, is looking for a Transport Clerk / Administrator working Monday to Friday days to join the team. This role will be on an ongoing basis with a chance of a permanent role for the right candidate.
The key responsibilities for a Transport Clerk:
- Ensuring the systems are up to date with despatching and loading processes
- Efficiently despatch deliveries with relevant paperwork
- Use customer systems to update delivery information
- Monitor the return of equipment
- Directing drivers to the correct locations on arrival to site
- Liaising with drivers on the gate communication system to make them aware of site procedures
The key skills and experience needed for a Transport Clerk:
- GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
- Able to effectively use IT, including Microsoft Office
- Methodical and can follow instruction and procedure
- Reliable
- High levels of commitment and motivation, and can use own initiative
