The Capitol Forum is hiring a Director of Business Development to lead and expand our sales presence in Europe. This London-based, hybrid role is ideal for a senior sales professional with deep experience selling to investors, regulators, lawyers, and policymakers. The right candidate will be equally comfortable owning a territory, driving new business across the region, and managing our Europe-based sales team members. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, the Director will play a pivotal role in shaping our European commercial strategy—building long-term relationships with clients who rely on The Capitol Forum’s investigative journalism and regulatory intelligence.

POSITION AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own and grow the European territory while managing and mentoring two London-based sales team members.
- Drive new client acquisition while maintaining and expanding relationships with existing subscribers.
- Proactively generate and pursue new leads to maximize revenue opportunities.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of The Capitol Forum’s reporting and analysis to clearly convey its value to prospective clients.
- Engage inbound leads from marketing campaigns, conferences, and referrals.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline using CRM tools.
- Conduct client meetings, product demonstrations, and trial access.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activity, forecasts, and progress reports.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, editorial, and leadership teams to support growth initiatives.
- Operate independently with a proactive, entrepreneurial approach to achieving revenue targets.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably within financial intelligence, research, data, or media.
- Proven success in sales.
- Prior experience managing or mentoring sales team members.
- Strong understanding of how our target audience uses regulatory and policy intelligence.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
