We are on the hunt for talented and driven Sous Chef to join our team at the Canteen. The Canteen serves up rustic Italian dishes, crafted from seasonal local produce, celebrating the true flavours of Italy. Salary: up to £45,000 base salary + service charge (circa £15,000 per annum)

What you'll be doing as a Sous Chef:

  • Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in running a smooth and efficient kitchen.
  • Help lead, train, and mentor junior team members.
  • Ensure high standards of health and safety, food quality, hygiene, and consistency.
  • Contribute ideas for seasonal menus and daily specials.
  • Be hands-on, working across different sections during busy service periods.

About you, our new Sous Chef:

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef in a fast-paced, high-quality environment.
  • A passion for sustainability, seasonality, and a keen eye for detail and presentation.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • The ability to work under pressure and deliver exceptional results during busy service.
  • A team player who can guide and lead junior team members with excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • A desire to learn and progress within the industry.
  • Flexible approach to work.
