Our client, a well-established online retailer with a significant existing turnover, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Performance Marketing Manager to take the lead of their ambitious expansion into new markets. This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses a proven ability to build successful marketing strategies from the ground up for a mature product in uncharted territories. You will have the considerable advantage of leveraging the infrastructure and rich data of a high-performing business to fuel growth in these exciting new ventures.
This role offers a broad remit, extending beyond initial user acquisition. The successful candidate will be responsible for not only activating the most effective traffic sources with the right product mix but also for meticulously monitoring post-landing page performance. They will play a crucial role in identifying areas for improvement across UX, product information, and translations, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to implement necessary enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Launch: Strategically planning the necessary marketing channels for successful market entry and defining best-practice setups for each new territory. Overseeing the setup of all paid marketing channels and product feeds, collaborating with third-party suppliers and internal teams. Ensuring full compliance with publisher and specific market requirements. Establishing robust reporting and measurement frameworks from the outset.
- Market Infancy: Developing and executing effective short-to-medium-term marketing strategies, with a strong focus on prioritisation and immediate impact. Maintaining meticulous attention to detail, rigorously monitoring performance against targets, and implementing necessary course corrections proactively. Establishing optimisation processes, early warning systems, and essential hygiene checks tailored to the specific goals of each new market. Maintaining a strategic long-term perspective, building a solid foundation for sustained future success.
- Market Maturity: Driving new markets towards predictable daily Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV) targets.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 4-6 years of demonstrable experience in performance marketing within an e-commerce business with multi-market exposure, ideally including EU and US markets.
- A proven track record of achieving profitable revenue growth through Shopping, Paid Search, Display, Affiliate CSS, and Paid Social campaigns.
- Experience within a marketplace environment and a strong understanding of lower-funnel channel success are essential.
- A clear understanding of how to effectively engage and leverage support from suppliers, including understanding market-specific requirements and the competitive landscape.
- Exceptional data analysis and problem-solving skills, coupled with a strong commercial outlook. The ability to interpret complex data to identify key opportunities and optimise resource allocation is critical.
- Comfortable with a hands-on approach, deeply involved in the details of marketing and e-commerce performance. Familiarity with managing programs to achieve break-even points and drive top-line growth.
- A proactive and innovative mindset, willing to challenge standard practices and develop strategies that are in the best interests of the business, rather than simply adhering to conventional platform guidelines.
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and consistently meet deadlines.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
This role demands a proactive individual who is eager to build and grow new programs, rather than maintain existing ones or delegate extensively. This is an exceptional opportunity for a driven and results-oriented performance marketer to make a significant impact on a rapidly growing business as it expands its global footprint. If you are ready for an exciting challenge and possess the skills and experience to drive successful market launches, we encourage you to apply.
Please note due to high volumes of applications unfortunately we are not always able to respond to all unsuccessful applicants. However we wish everyone who applies the very best with their job search.
